Jacquie Rhoades, director of The Reading Company, is a teacher, public speaker, and author. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Education. She is credentialed in the state of California in administration, learning handicapped, severely handicapped, general education, and as a resource specialist.

Jacquie has experience in both elementary and secondary classrooms, and adult education. In addition, she has served as an adjunct professor at Dominican College San Rafael's elementary & secondary credential programs, adjunct teacher at Sonoma State University, reading coordinator, literacy leader; staff development coordinator, Title I Coordinator, program specialist, program manager and, education specialist for the California State Department of Education, Special Education Resource Network.

Jacquie has authored numerous books and articles and has presented workshops related to special education, reading, curriculum development, cooperative learning, and classroom management throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, and India.
